WARRI, January 11, 2018 – An explosion was heard at an oil facility believed to belong to Nigerian Gas Company in the early hours of Thursday, local media have reported.

 

The incident occurred around 4 am local time at a facility near Warri, Delta state, Vanguard reported. The area has been closed to reporters.

“Most of us ran out of our houses when we heard the explosion at about 4 am today, thinking it was Boko Haram that had invaded our community,” local resident Madam Ojijala was quoted as saying.
